International Tutor - Michele Hill Lecture: William Morris in South Australia
In 1997 Michele won airfares to London in a raffle which resulted in a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum. It was there that she became entranced in the beautiful designs of William Morris. On her return home to Adelaide she became obsessed with making appliqué quilts inspired by his patterns. By chance some years later she discovered that the Art Gallery of South Australia has one of the biggest collections of Morris & Co furnishings in the world!
Michele will give a Power Point presentation giving you an insight into her personal William Morris journey. It will also include images and history of some of the South Australian Gallery’s collection.
Date: Friday 2 March from 7.00pm
