Japanese Fabrics

These have been a long time favourite of ours and possibly what we are most known for across New Zealand. They fall into three categories: woven taupes, printed taupes and indigo prints. Many of the woven taupe fabrics are exclusive to Patchwork Passion as we bring them in from Japan.

Modern Quilt Fabrics
These fabrics are clear colours mixed with lots of white and other solid colours. They are good for modern style quilts, children's quilts and a brighter lighter look. This area of the shop is now laid out in designer ranges - Riley Blake, Tula Pink, Jen Kingwell, Gutermann.

1800s Reproduction Fabrics

This selection of fabrics is designed around quilts that were made in 1800s America. They are usually murkier in tone

Hand Dyed Wool Fabric
This is one of our popular specialist areas as few patchwork shops have a supply of woollens. Some are dyed locally especially for us while others are sourced overseas. We have a large range of 'murkier' colours but also stock some marbled brights.

Solid Fabrics
Most of our regular solids are Kona Cottons. We also Oakshott Shot Cottons which are stunning. They are firm and absolutely lovely to work with - we have tested for shrinkage and colourfastness and they are perfect.
