These are regular on-going classes run by our experienced tutors. The focus in these groups is on teaching. The tutors will help you increase your knowledge, develop your skills and finish your chosen projects. Morning tea or supper is provided. These groups meet once a fortnight or once a month.
Art Quilters
Join Di once a month to work on your current arty projects. In this group we will take and experimental, hands-on approach to new techniques and materials, in order to extend our creativity and free up our ability to express our ideas in original art quilts.

Monday Night Sewers
Join Karen on alternate Monday nights from 6.30pm - 9.00pm. Choose your own project, come along ready to work on it and Karen will help you achieve a good finish and increase your sewing knowledge at the same time. You might like to leave your little ones at home with your partner or come along to enjoy sewing for yourself, family or home.
Dates: Term 1 -13 and 27 February, 12 and 26 March. 6.30 – 9.30pm

Tuesday Stitchers
Join Karen once a fortnight to work on your current project. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with you in all areas of sewing, not just quilting. Her current students commented that they learn new skills and tips every session.
Dates: Term 1 - 31 January, 14 and 28 February, 13 and 27 March from 10.00am – 1.00pm.

Japanese Block Club
Robyn will be teaching hand appliqué, sashiko stitching and machine piecing to need. She will also be giving you background information about Japan and Japanese design motifs. You need to have purchased one of Susan Briscoe's Japanese Quilt Block books and you can choose which blocks you want to make, how many and how you want to set them.

Pin Cushion Club
Join Robyn once a month to make a pin cushion. In the process you will learn a variety of techniques – English Paper Piecing, simple embroidery, Wool Appliqué, Foundation Piecing, and more. Just think you could have a collection of Pin Cushions as Christmas gifts at the end of this year. Kits will be available each month for $12.00 or you can bring along your own fabrics, threads, etc.
Dates: Tuesdays from 1.30pm – 3.30pm on 7 February, 6 March, 3 April, 15 May and 12 June.
Cost: $75.00 per half year which is five sessions.

Jo Morton 1800s Appliqué Club
Join Robyn once a month to work from Jo’s latest book “Prairie Flowers Encore”. You will be creating 6½” appliqué blocks from her book and putting them into a project of your choice. Robyn or Cindy will teach you to Freezer Paper appliqué or to Needle-turn. Meet monthly to keep inspired, to learn more about 1800s quilt making, to spend dedicated time on your Jo Morton project and to sit, sew and chatter with like minded stitchers.
Dates: Wednesdays from 10.00am – 1.00pm on 8 February, 7 March, 4 April, 16 May, 13 June.

Dear Jane Club
Join Cindy once a month to work on your Dear Jane Quilt. Jane Stickle made this quilt in America during the Civil War (1860s). It is made up of 4½” pieced blocks and some appliqué blocks – sew by hand or machine. Cindy will help you with your piecing of these small blocks. During the morning you will also learn about life, fabric and sewing in the 1800s when Jane was living in America. You need to have your own Dear Jane book and you can choose which blocks you want to make, how many and how you want to set them.

Create Your Own Small Arty Quilts
Join Karen Davis once a month to develop your personal style in creating your own designs in small projects. If you have thought about going down this track but don’t know where to start this is the place. No previous design or art experience is necessary, just an interest in having a go. Karen has a wealth of knowledge to share with you to get you started and moving through your projects during the year.

Embroider and Embellish
Join Alison Smith once a month to hand embellish your chosen pieces of fabric with embroidery, beading and more. Alison has completed her City and Guilds Embroidery 1 course, so will share her knowledge with you. Learn new embroidery stitches each month in class and then practise them on at least one other project during the month. Share, receive feedback and create each month under the guidance of Alison.

Cushion Club
Join Robyn once a month for 6 months to cushions. In the process you will learn a variety of techniques – Appliqué, Strip Piecing, Foundation Piecing, Crazy Patchwork, Intuitive Piecing and more. Kits will be available each month in either our woven Taupe or Shot Cotton fabrics or you can bring along your own fabrics to match your décor.
Dates: Wednesdays nights from 7.00pm – 9.00pm on 15 February, 14 March, 11 April, 9 May, 6 June, 4 July.

Art Nouveau Group
Karen Boalch is planning a monthly where you will move beyond William Morris to learn about and work on Art Nouveau projects. These will often be based around the work of Charles Rennie McIntosh. These are great projects to use our Shot Cottons or Solid fabrics and most will involve appliqué. We plan to start on Friday mornings in May.
